October Stats – Part II: Food

To keep myself going, I am going to double up with two blogs. Today you’ll see October. Tomorrow, I will cover November. I am pretty upset with not keeping up with this in a time fashion. Normally, I could look at a day and seeing what I ate, I was able to tell what happened that day. After writing up everything I ate during this month, I didn’t eat very much. It’s strange. I eat everyday. I am constantly eating. For someone who says that, I don’t show it. Even with all my munching and snacking, I don’t gain a pound. A gift and a curse I guess. I really don’t want to be 80 and look like a twig. Don’t think that means I want to be the size of the Hindenburg. I just want to weigh more than my 7 year old nephew.

Donuts:

I had a total of 12 donuts during the month of October. Of these twelve donuts,

  • 7 were my favorite, maple cinnamon rolls.
  • 3 were chocolate long johns
  • 2 were munchkins (blueberry)

Cookies:

Cookies have become my downfall. I did eat less than I normally do. For this month, I had a total of 15. Let’s break it down and watch this cookie crumble…

  • 2 Berries and Cream Cookies.
  • 3 M&M Cookies.
  • 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies.
  • 2 Sugar Cookies.
  • 1 No Bake Cookie.
  • 2 Halloween Oreo Cookies.
  • 3 Nabisco Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Candy…Candy….Candy:

Being October, it’s only right to eat pounds and pounds of candy. I bought a crap load of candy. I was smart to buy the candy I eat. I ended up getting a total of 3 or 4 trick or treaters. This just meant I was forced to eat the left overs. Eff Em Elle. I had a total of 17 pieces of candy. Note: I ate more of the candy during the month of November.

  • 2 Mini Caramel Candies.
  • 1 Bag of Skittles.
  • 7 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
    • 3 Large Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
    • 3 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
      • 1 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (Cream Style)
  • 2 Mini Baby Ruth.
  • 2 Butterfingers.
  • 2 Hot Tamales.
  • 1 Twix Bar

Muffins:

I noticed something. I didn’t eat a single bagel at all this month. I know, right? I love bagels. I guess I didn’t love them that month. No matter. I still ate enough muffins to cover the losses of the bagels. I had a total of 8 muffins in the month of October.

  • 6 of those muffins were blueberry.
    • 1 was a mini blueberry muffin.
    • 5 were jumbo blueberry muffins.
  • 1 was a peanut butter and Jelly muffin.
  • 1 was a cheddar and jalapeno muffin.

Other Random Treats:

I munched on more than just muffins and cookies. I nibbled on 9 other items.

  • 1 was a Caramel Chocolate Brownie.
  • 1 was a Jumbo Cinnamon Roll.
  • 2 were Strawberry Good Humor Ice Cream Bars.
  • 1 Mixed Berry Yogurt.
  • 1 Apple Cinnamon Loaf.
  • 3 Granola Bars.
    • 2 Chocolate Chip Granola Bars.
    • 1 Oat & Honey Granola Bar.

Dining Out:

Since I switched the set up of the food log, I better keep it the same. I used to section if off by breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This seemed to be a little easier. It’s hard to remember the time I ate everything. At least this way, I can tell right away if I had it at home, work, or at another establishment.

  • 3 Cold Cut Combos from Subway.
    • 2 bags of Sunchips (Monterey Jack and Sun Dried Tomato)

July Stats – Part II: Food

After covering what I drank last month, you’re probably overly excited to see what I ate last month. I know. I would be too. It’s thrilling to see what I ate. I will say this. After months of promising myself to buy groceries, I finally did. There was a reason. I am on vacation. Or I was this week. I didn’t want to leave the house. So I had to stock up on food. It’s nice having food. It’s nice knowing that I don’t have to go to McDonald’s or Burger King just to stop the cravings. Then again, the human body can last 4 to 6 weeks without eating. After that, you might look at the person next to you and wonder, “Do people taste like chicken or pork?”

Grab a snack. I’ll wait.

You got one? Good. Let’s start.

Breakfast:

  • I still enjoy a nice bagel in the morning. I don’t bother heating it up or adding cream cheese bagel sauce to it. I just eat it plain. I like bagel sauce. I prefer spreading butter and jam on it. I just eat it plain. If I am at home, then yes. I will add the butter, jam, or bagel sauce to it. Last month I had 10 bagels.
    • 9 of those bagels were blueberry. By far, my favorite bagel. I just love blueberries.
    • 1 bagel was an cinnamon raisin bagel. It would have been a blueberry but the morning bakers didn’t have any ready. It was still good. I like cinnamon. Honestly, the smell of cinnamon is joy to me.
  • Since I switched to bagels, I don’t eat many donuts at work anymore. I still love donuts. I miss Dunkin’ Donuts. There is a store I can go to but traveling 30 minutes for a donut is lame. They have the best strawberry donuts. I had a total of 7 donuts. One more than last month. Of those seven donuts,
    • 1 was from work. It was a maple long john.
    • 6 were from the local gas station, Quick-Trip. They were,
      • 3 maple long johns.
      • 3 chocolate long johns.
  • I made 4 trips to Bob Evans in the month of July. It’s tradition! I stick to the same meal. My mother does too. I stick with the Farmer’s Choice. The meal includes, eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes. Together, I had…
    • 8 eggs over easy.
    • 12 pieces of bacon.
    • 8 pancakes with syrup. No butter. I hate butter on my pancakes.
    • 4 orders of white toast.
  • Last month I had 5 yogurts. This month, I only had a total of 1.
    • It was a Blueberry yogurt with granola.

Lunch (work meals):

It seems it is becoming an issue for me trying to find meals at work. You work at a place for 16 years, you are bound to run into the same issue. I bet people at McDonald’s and such have the same issue. I would hate to work at place like that. Having to eat that food day in and day out. At least where I work, I have many choices. It’s just getting harder to decide. I should try and make it a weekly thing. You know, make each day of the week a certain meal. Like every Sunday, I get the Beef Lo Mein (thank you, John! It’s always amazing!). Who knows. It will only leave me with 7 different meals. But I can always bend the rules.

  • 8 of my meals at work were the ever popular, Medium Spicy Beef Lo Mein (no vegetables, no oyster sauce)
    • I enjoyed a nice piece of New York Style Cheesecake with this 3 times.
  • I had 4 different wraps on break. Wraps have become a staple now. If we can, we are wanting to make a special menu with wraps and burgers to offer people for lunch. Make them signature items only found at our store. Of these 4 wraps,
    • 3 were BLT wraps. One of my favorite wraps.
      • 1 side of baked beans.
      • 1 side of macaroni and cheese.
      • 1 side of tortellini pasta.
      • 1 yeast roll.
    • 1 grilled chicken wrap. Not as good as the BLT but still good. Of course it’s good. I made it. No side with this wrap. *sad panda*
  • I had a whopping total of 6 pulled pork sandwiches.
    • 4 were smaller sandwiches.
    • 2 were larger sandwiches with sides.
      • 2 side of baked beans.
      • 2 side of macaroni and cheese.
      • 2 yeast roll.
      • 1 slice of Dorthy’s strawberry cheesecake (I love that woman.)
  • 1 Burnt End Sandwich. I didn’t want this. I don’t like Burnt Ends. But they mixed up handing the sandwiches to us. When I took a bit (without looking), I noticed their error. Eff you, Jake ate the Fat Man. You ruined my lunch.
  • 2 BBQ Brisket Sandwiches. I do love BBQ. Far too much. Damn, that sheet is good!
    • 2 sides of macaroni and cheese.
    • 1 side of baked beans.
    • 1 yeast roll.
    • 1 piece of white cake with frosting.
  • 1/2 of a Grilled Club. I got busy at work and didn’t get the time to enjoy it all.
  • 1 Bacon Cheeseburger (lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, ketchup…)
    • 1 order of tator tots on the side.
  • 2 Foot Long Beef Hot Dog.
  • 1 Angus Beef Hamburger

    • 1 slice of Alfredo Pizza.
    • 2 slices of Baked Potato Pizza.
    • 2 slices of Pepperoni Pizza.

  • 1 6 inch cold cut combo. (would have been a foot long, but couldn’t finish it for some reason.)
  • 1 visit to Philly Time.
    • 1 Deluxe Philly Steak.
    • 1 Philly Time Chocolate Chip Cookie.
    • 1 side of Philly Time Onion Rings.
  • 3 McDonald’s 20 piece chicken nuggets
    • 6 sweet and sour sauces.
    • 6 BBQ sauces.

Dinner:

  • 1 visit to Ming Garden.
    • General Tso Chicken and steamed rice.
  • 2 large Papa John’s Cheese Pizza (12 slices total)
    • 7 hot slices
    • 5 nuked slices
  • 11 Papa John’s Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Tostino’s Cheese Pizza (BURNT!!)
    • I finally got the oven fixed!
  • 1 Tupperware of Fettuccine Chicken Pasta made by my friend. (thanks, babe!)
  • 2 Slices of Minsky’s Taco Pizza

DISCLAIMER: I am really not too sure what I had for lunch and what I had for dinner. I tried to keep track of it by marking what I had for lunch and what was for dinner. But I slip. I try to judge. Usually, I skip lunch. I am just too lazy to leave the house. By the time I do, It’s about 5 or 6. I like food. I do. Just lazy.

Drinking Snacks:

  • 1 Butterfinger Bar. Was at the bowling alley. I like to make note that I cannot play. I think I scored a 50. Maybe 60. I don’t know. I can’t bowl and my co-worker Adam can’t dance.

  • 1 Yeast Roll.
  • 4 Tator Tots

Taste Testing:

  • 1/3 size Pancake on a stick (with sausage link inside)
  • 1 piece of Polish Sausage

Misc:

  • 18 Valerian Pills
    • Don’t think I am dying anymore. I just take them cause.

I hate writing these up. I always feel bad after I do. I keep saying I should eat healthier or maybe try to actually eat at home. I tend to eat the same shit every month. Why not I take the stand now. I mean, I am already half way through the year. Maybe it is time for me to get cracking on cooking at home again. But I said it before, it sucks cooking for one person. How much do I make? I am not too fond of left overs. I like fresh food.  Since this is the 6 month mark, here are the links to all the months before. You can look it over if you like. I’ll do my best to get the stats up next week. It shouldn’t be too hard. Just a lot of note taking.

June Stats – Part I: Drinks

I am 6 months into the year. I am still logging it all. I am planning to post the 6 months stats for the year. I will gather up all the information so far and show you what I have already had the first part of the year. I feel like I am slacking on eating correctly. Not that I have really cared about what I have eaten but I am slacking on actually grocery shopping. I am pretty lazy when it comes to that. I mean I work at a grocery store. You’d think I would have no problem finding food. But imagine working 8-10 hours a day and staying longer just to shop. Not saying I hate my work or my store, I just want to get out and go home. If I do need something, I’ll go to another store. It’s closer to my humble abode. After I post the stats for the food and the drinks, I’ll tally up the first 6 months and post it in one lump sum.

May Stats – Part I: Drinks

The month began like any other. I drink what I wanted. I ate what ever I felt like. God gave me this amazing gift of staying fit. Deal with it, mofo’s. I had a couple of attacks last month. I was determined to figure out what was causing it. I ruled out work. At first, I thought it was. Work is effin’ crazy. It’s a damn soap opera around there. I’ll save that for another post. Hell, with the amount of hoopla that goes on daily, I’d probably need an entire blog dedicated just to everyone’s antics.

Aside from work, I was still unsure. Could it be the food I eat? Could it be cause I smoke? Maybe the amount of soda I drink? I do drink a lot of soda. Tallying up January to April, I had a total of 222 servings.

    Holy Carbonated Drinks, Batman!

Sometime during the month, I thought I needed to fix that. I drop the soda for a week. I know. I would have gone longer but I didn’t. I had no real excuse as to why I did. I wasn’t having caffeine withdrawls. Even when I went back to drinking it, I haven’t had any attacks. So I don’t think it’s the soda. But maybe, just maybe, it’s water. I don’t drink water. Read back at all the logs. I hardly drink it. But I have continued to drink it each night before bed. I take my pills and a small glass of water each night. If anything, I can say drinking water is keeping me alive. Let’s jump to the log. What crazy crap did I put in my body this time?

    Coffee:

I still drink a lot of coffee. It’s the one drink I will never rid myself of. My mother drank coffee for years. She lost the taste of this delicious beverage when she was pregnant with my older sister. Thankfully, I am a man.  For the month of May, I had a total of 69 coffees. To break it down,

    • 3 of those were large Starbucks coffees. I don’t miss Starbucks. I am not trying to save money. I just don’t drink it as much. How is that for starting with about 26 the start of the year?
    • 57 of those were coffees I had at work. I grab a cup every morning I get to work. I usually cap it off at 2 but some days, I’ll get three. When I do, I break my rule of using public restrooms.
      • 54 of those were regular coffees. It’s an 8oz. serving.
      • 2 of those were dark roast coffees. I am not a fan of this kind of coffee. I don’t like strong coffee. It hurts my chest and it makes my heart race. Funny how I was able to drink 2 or 3 energy drinks in one day and feel nothing but give me a bold coffee and I feel like I want to die.
      • 1 was a decaf coffee. We were out of regular coffee at the moment. I wanted coffee and didn’t want to wait.
    • 4 of the coffees were my Foldger’s  I drink at home. I am out at the moment and haven’t restocked my cabinet. If I had, the amount would be more.
    • 5 of these were coffees at Bob Evans. It’s tough to measure these when they constantly come by and refill my cup. Look. I just took a sip. I don’t need a refill. I want to finish my cup, log it, and then you can refill it. But it’s okay I guess. I manage to estimate the amount I drink.

    Soda:

At one point during the month, I wanted to see if soda was the reason for my attacks. I did go a week without soda and I didn’t have one. I fell off the wagon and went back to drinking soda. I still have yet to have an attack. They are still random. Hopefully I will eventually discover what’s causing it.

This month, I had a total of 44 sodas. Quite impressive I must say. To date, I have had a total of,  266 sodas. That’s everything, from cans of coke to the drinks I have at work.

    • 41 of the sodas I drank were Coke.
      • 17 of those Cokes, I had on break at work. Out of 15 days, I only went for a second cup on 1 day.
      • 19 of those were cans of Coke.
      • 2 of those were from McDonald’s
        • 1 was a large Coke
        • 1 was a medium Coke
      • 1 was a large Coke from Burger King
      • 2 were from the local movie theatre. I went to see, “Iron Man II” and “Shrek 4”.
    • The last 3 were Pepsi.
      • 1 was from Philly Time
      • 1 was from a trip to Popeye’s (the clean one)
      • 1 was from Pizza Street

    Juice:

I drank just this month but not as much I did the month before. In the month of April, I had 10. This month, I had 5.

    • 4 of those Orange Juices.
      • 2 were had when I made my monthly (sometimes bi-monthly) trip to Bob Evans.
      • 2 were 16 oz. bottles of Minute Maid Orange Juices.
    • 1 was a 16 oz. bottle of Minute Maid Cranberry Grape Juice.

    Alcohol:

I looked at my stats and it seems I drank more than I thought I did. Maybe it was the bottle or two I would enjoy after a drama filled day at work. No matter. I am not going to cut this out of my life. I like vices. Miami especially. This month, I had 49 liver ruining alcoholic beverages.

    • 4 of those were shots of Captain Morgan Lime. It’s new to me. I don’t know where I stand on it quite yet. I mean, I like it but it has a strong lime flavor. I guess it’ll get you to drink more without knowing how much it’s inebriating you.
    • 45 were Bud Lights.
      • 41 of those, were long neck bottles I had at home. Much more than last months, 23.
      • 4 of those, I had at 54 Street Bar & Grill. (or is it, Grill and Bar?)
        • 1 was a small mug.
        • 3 were tall mugs.

    Milk:

I do enjoy a nice pint of milk every so often during a slow period of my morning. I get to work early. I work my ass off for 5 hours. After things slow down and I get cleaned up, I stroll over and get a milk and sometimes I’ll enjoy yogurt with it or get a bagel. There is no formula to it. It’s just a spur of the moment kind of thing. This month I had 10. It’s the same amount I had last month too.

    • 9 of them were chocolate.
    • 1 was a white milk.

I was a big milk drinker when I younger. I don’t crave it much any more. I tried white milk and it was nasty. I don’t know why. I loved milk. Chocolate milk is better. It isn’t great for you but anything that taste good is never good for you.

    Water:

Did I really drink that much water this month!? Did water finally make the upper portion of my list of drinks I had the current month. You bet it did! This might be the reasoning behind the whole attack fiasco I go through. Since I have started to drink water on a regular basis, I haven’t had attacks. I have a water every night before bed. Let me tally up all the water I have had for the year. January through April, I had a total of 16 1/3 glasses of water. Last month, I had 25. I had more this month than I did the first 3 month of the year. Let me break it down for ya,

    • 7 of the waters I had at work on break.
    • 2 were had at the local “54” when I was Mcdrinking.
    • 16 were 8oz. tumbler size waters.

    Etc…

Here is the rest of the items I drank this month. I was debating if I should have added my fruit drinks to the list. I mean, I did have a number of those. But I am not sure if it’ll become a regular thing for me. If it does, then it will move to the upper section of the food log.

    • 1 was a glass of pink lemonade I had at home.
    • 6 were fruit drinks.
      • 3 were Fruit Punch Powerades.
        • 2 were 32oz. sizes.
        • 1 was a 20oz. size.
      • 3 were Fruit Punch Gatorades.
        • 2 were 32oz. sizes.
        • 1 was a 20oz. size.

That ends the stats for what I drank last month. Sorry for delaying this stats. I would say I was busy but that would be a lie. I was lazy. Maybe a little busy. But I was more lazy than anything. I cannot say when the food stats will be posted but they will. Keep looking. Thanks for reading.
